The Faulty Story!
It has been wrongly claimed that Sir Elijah Bakana started the Sabbath Faith in Igbo land, Nigeria.
Truly, Rev. Garrick Sokari Daketime Marian Braide: Elijah of Bakana (1882-1918), was indeed a colossus in the christian history of Niger Delta, with his evangelical ministry, Garrick Braide Movement at St. Andrew Anglican Church, Bakana, Kalabari, having been baptized there in 1910, at age 28, held oral testimony on Rev. Garrick Sokari Braide. He was noted to be a gifted Evangelist in Anglican church, where he was given the title, Elijah Bakana, because of his historic and gracious anointing of pulling down idols, and destruction of shrines, like Biblical Elijah did against baal and its prophets at mount Carmel.
His evangelical exploits also gave him a hard catastrophic hit against alcoholism badly championed by British imperialists. The fortune/tax made by the imperialists on alcohol sales, depleted greatly, that led them to persecute Elijah Bakana, in no small measure, including his arrest and unjust imprisonment in early 1916. However, The Most High showed him Grace through, disciples to get him out of Prison in 1918 and died in same year, held oral testimony. He, Elijah Bakana of blessed memory, died a christian and not a Sabbatharian, in his informal Garrick Braide Movement that never worshipped on the Sabbath Day. On his demise in 1918, his disciples, notably Prophet Coket Braide S.O. guided themselves into converting the ‘Garrick Braide Evangelical Movement into a congregational church, known today as ‘Christ Army Church’ that gathers for worship on Sundays, not Sabbath (Seventh day), to date.
The True Story of Sabbath Origin in Nigeria vide, Prophet Dee Ekeke Lolo Nwaibari of Akwete in Ndoki (1856-1957):
Oral history has it that it was Prophet Dee Ekeke Lolo, was the person used by The Most High Yahweh in founding the Sabbath Faith in Igbo land, Nigeria in 1916. Notably, oral revelation by late Rev. Dr. M. Onuabuchi (of the blessed memory, and one time worker under late Prophet Dee Ekeke Lolo), at the Community of Yahweh, Wuse, Abuja, Nigeria, during the SADON combine service in 2001, helped in no small measure to end the controversy on who was used by Heaven to establish Sabbath Faith in Nigeria. The grand son of late Dee Ekeje Lolo Nwaibari, collaborated this assertion as made by late Rev. Dr. M. Onuabuchi.
There are great historical events, that led to the founding of the Sabbath Faith in Igbo land, Nigeria. One significant note on the Faith in Nigeria, is traced to the defeat and Destruction of ”nwuiyeke shrine and its inhabitants’ by no less but Blessed Dee Ekeke Lolo in 1916.
Oral history has it that Prophet Dee Ekeke Lolo Nwabari, whose father is from the Royal house of Akwete, in present Abia State, Nigeria, his late mother from Nkwerre, now in Imo State. Nigeria, and his late wife from Ndoki, in present day, Rivers State, Nigeria, was converted from the Traditional faith to Christianity in Akwete Anglican Cathedral church in 1911.
The oral tradition that conveyed the destruction of ‘nwuiyeke shrine’ that led to the foundation of first Sabbath Faith in Nigeria, through Prophet Dee Keke Lolo, was collaborated by Dee John, the Priest and last son of Dee Ekeke. That it happened on a given Sunday, during worship service at the temporal site of Akwete Anglican Church, Dee Ekeke was picked in a sort of spirit trance that “tossed” him to a place in the CMS congregation. His eyes were opened to see beyond the physical and a Celestial voice called his name thrice, “Ekeke! Ekeke!! Ekeke!!!”. The voice called on him to alert that they’re worship unclean spirits there, and instructed him to leave the church place immediately, to a new and holy day and form of worship of The Creator of Heaven and earth. In the very trance, the Holy Spirit at work dashed him out of the church in the form of lightening, and while he moved out of the CMS church in Akwete, he DECLARED LOUDLY that “The Seventh Day Sabbath is The Holy Day of True Worship”. The Supernatural Wind drove Dee Ekeke to the ‘nwuiyeke shrine’ and on reaching there, he spat on it, a mighty tree.
The act of spitting was symbolic of contempt, judgement, condemnation and impending destruction. The shrine was notably thick forest and one dares not enter. The next revelatory instruction for him to burn down the very shrine, which he executed immediately. The once dreadful shrine in which human sacrifices were done, were burnt for days and even weeks. It finally went down with shouts and cry of obvious defeat.
At this point, Dee Keke had got highly filled with holy powers of The Most High. He continued in the forest for weeks and even months, where he contended with many deadly totems, such as pythons (boas), tigers that were in the service of the defeated deity. Dee Keke got his acts together, as a world-war 1 veteran, and with the aid of Yahweh destroyed them all, one after another, and cleared a part of the place, made home and lived there.
The evil people of Akwete came hard on Dee Ekeke for destroying their purported great deity, but The Most High was on his side, as He turned their evil deeds backward, including false accusation against him by same group of people in court, as events dawned on the Magistrate that Papa Dee Ekeke Lolo “was no ordinary person” and acquitted him on all malicious and false allegations made against him. As the magistrate listened to divine message from Dee Ekeke Lolo!!!
In all Dee Ekeke Lolo new found Faith in Sabbath was tested, including deaths of his household members, yet The Most High Yahweh strengthened him and gave him victory.
Like Moshe, The Almighty Yahweh granted Dee Ekeke Lolo the wisdom and supernatural insight to erect the first ever Holy Altar of Sacrifice in Igbo land, Nigeria in line with Biblical standard, even though he was not learned.
Biblical Sacrifices were made by Dee Keke Lolo, and deaths and evil sicknesses resulting from the destruction of the evil and defeated deity, stopped immediately, including great healing, came upon Akwete community. Thus The Creator by This Glorious Altar of His, disclosed the election of African Priesthood, starting from the priestly lineage of Blessed Dee Keke Lolo, whose eyes like Moshe are fixed on the above always, communicating with The Almighty Yahweh for His Divine Direction and Solution to every matter on hand.
Prophet Dee Keke Lolo was spiritual in extending an “open” hand and heart regarding central system of priesthood, that runs contrary to today’s filial (family based) priesthood. He expediently laid the foundation for the speedy spread of The Sabbath Faith in Igbo land, and Nigeria in general, to global bliss and wonders. This he did by making sure that no minister was detained, to serve him for ever.
Dee Keke Lolo cleanses any of his trainees on a fast track of days, or weeks or few months latest; ordains them and send them to return his/her home and start a ministry immediately. For instance, one Shepherd Udoh was cleansed under one month and sent to his home town to start up a Sabbath based ministry. Similarly, Rev. Dr Mark Onuabuchi of Amichi, Papa Jeremiah Osuolu, Prophet Okere Oteh Lolo, Mother Agnes Nwanyinma Ukwu, Papa Ikpeogu of Ogbunike, Blesseed Jackson Udoh, James Akpanti, Simeon Esendu, Mother Elizabeth Uchendu, and others yet to be identified, encountered Papa Dede Ekeke Lolo at Akwete, and drank from his good well of divine apprenticeship. There are claims that some founding African or Aladura clerics; Baba Moses Orimolade, Pastor Bada Oshofa, Prophet Agnes Okoh, etc, also met with the Sabbath founder in Nigeria.
From the above trainees that passed under the divine tutelage of Dee Keke Lolo , that Sabbath Faith spread in Igbo land, Nigeria, Africa and beyond to date.
